Canadian Lynx

Wildlife Series:
My true love in art is depicting wildlife. Capturing the details and texture is a challenge with every painting, and the most important challenge is to capture the heart and spirit of the animal. To look at the picture and to see the lynx looking back at you with an interesting and inquisitive expression. What is that cat really thinking about?

This work is done in fine detailled pen&ink pointillism or stipple. Its a technique that has almost photo quality results and is made up of millions of tiny dots - all hand drawn. It requires the upmost in patience and planning for one mistake means you have to start all over again. Needless to say when the painting is near completion, it is a nervous and tense time as you do not want to make an error at that point in time. This painting took about 2 weeks to complete.
