Its always a hard choice where to start when writing one's own biography. I guess that the beginning is as good a place as any to start. So, here I am, born and raised in a small town named Galt in the province of Ontario, Canada. The town later amalgamated to the City of Cambridge. As I was growing up on the edge of the city, I was always interested in art and the outdoors. My playground was the neighbouring farm fields and parks where I was very close to nature.

At the age of seven, I was given a field guide of North American mamals, and from that time on my interest in drawing animals grew as I studied the pictures in the guide, and in other books. A couple of years later, my mother gave me a beautiful book on birds with many handpainted illustrations and coloured plates. It was a work of art, and that was really my first major influence in wildlife art.

During highschool at Glenview Park Secondary School, my art teacher, a Mr White, really encouraged me and gave me a lot of space to develope my own style. At that time I was really into the fantasy and sci-fi art. To this day it is one of my favourite genres.

From there I went to Guelph University to study computers. I have worked in the IT field for the last 20 years, and has given me the opportunity to work in Canada, the USA, and over in Europe for seven years. During this time as a hobby to relieve the high tech stresses, I kept to my art, moving from pencil and pen&ink works into acrylic paintings.

My strength in art was the attention to details and a lot of patience. I moved into wildlife art by accident. It was a desire to create more believable creatures for the fantasy art that lead me to back to exploring the wildlife genre. Here, I must say that Robert Bateman and Carl Brenders works were a big inspiration to me.

With my paintings I had some rewarding successes. All my acrylic originals have been sold, and currently reside with the Audubon wildlife society in California, and in private collections in the Ottawa valley here in Ontario.

The highlite of my career so far as an artist was in 1997 when I was invited to participate in the Wonders of Wildlife art exhibition in Hong Kong, sponsored by a Mr Hamza, and the World Wildlife Fund. From there I took a little sabatical from working in the acrylic medium, to get back to the pointillism style that I have always been interested in.

While living in Toronto for the past year, I decided that it was time to get a dream of mine off the ground - to bring about a rebirth of the ArtRealms internet gallery. Its has been a challenge to get the company going especially due to the world economy, but hard work always pays off in the end. ArtRealms is alive and growing, and a dream come true to becoming a world class center for art in every aspect. It is a dream and a dedication, a life long desire to bring to the public the love of art that flows within me.
