Wildlife Series:
The second installment in the Wildlife series is a portrait painting of the solitary North American Cougar, or Mountain Lion. As the largest of the American big cats, the cougar tries to avoid human contact at all costs. There are times when we stray near their territory especially as hikers explore the outdoors. In those instances, the cougar keeps a very watchful eye upon our activities.
This work is done in the fine detailed pen&ink pointillism or stipple technique. It gives the portrait the air of mood and spirit through careful shading and detailling using millions of tiny dots drawn by hand.
