Art Commissions.

Every artist has a deep yearning drive to create, and to earn a viable and profitable living. While all artists would just love to be able to sell all their works of art, in truth most artists make the largest part of their income by accepting art commissions. At ArtRealms, this is an important part of our business and our aim is to make this a rewarding experience for both the client and the artist.
If you would like a portrait of a loved one, a favourite pet, a prized animal, building, landscape, etc... our commissions follow a multipart process.

Step 1:
Contact ArtRealms about your desire for a work of art. The best way is by email. Include as much information as possible such as medium used, reference photos, and the size of the work, and if you want it framed or not. Please refer to the table below for an estimate of the cost for a commission. These fees are guidelines only, as often we have sales, and certain types of work may differ based upon the complexity involved.

Step 2:
Upon mutual acceptance of the commission, ArtRealms requires a 30% deposit of the fee in order to begin the commission.

Step 3:
The artists work closely with the client to design the preliminary drawing or outline of the painting. We send our sketches to the client via email for their acceptance and guidelines. Upon acceptance of the outline ArtRealms requires a 30% deposit to begin the final work of art.

Step 4:
Upon completion of the work, ArtRealms will send a photo of the work via email to the client for final approval. If any changes are required, this part is repeated until all parties have approved the final work. The remaining 40% of the fee is required before the work is shipped. All works are insured and shipped via UPS.

Methods of Payment:
The best way we appreciate payment to be sent is via Western Union money order, or by certified bankers cheque made payable to Stephen Hewer. I am in the process of setting up PayPal for credit card transactions, but for the protection of our clients I feel that this method is best. For any residents local to Toronto or Ottawa, I do accept cash payment as I can deal with the client directly.
